Saugeen Shores Press Releases 15Dec2014 – 21Dec2014

15 Dec 2014

10:16 am police received a report of the loss or theft of a wallet. Upon checking with the bank the bank card had been used. Police are investigating as well as the bank.

Remember to protect your PIN numbers; do not have them with your bank or credit cards.

We see many frauds and fraudulent emails almost daily. I report on them all the time. There are many unsavory characters out there who would like to part you and your money that you have saved. Be very cautious about providing your banking or credit information over the phone or on line unless you have checked out the company or individual first.

Many people start relationships on line, quite a few of these are legitimate and turn into life-long friendships. Quite often the long distance love or friend you make starts to ask for money. These are not the relationships you want to be involved with as you will probably never meet the person and you may continue to send money, usually through Western Union until you feel something is not right and it is too late. Keep your money, be cautious, and be smart.
