Saugeen Shores Press Releases 01Dec2014 – 07Dec2014

2 Dec 2014,

2:30 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Eugenie and Goderich St. A vehicle was west on Eugenie St stopped at the stop sign at Goderich St. and proceeded onto Goderich St and was struck by another vehicle that was north on Goderich St in the middle lane. The driver of the offending vehicle was charged with Failing to Yield.

3:32 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Waterloo and Johnston St. A vehicle was west on Johnston and did not stop for the stop sign and collided with another vehicle that was north on Waterloo St. The driver of the offending vehicle was charged with Fail to Stop for the Stop Sign.

3 Dec 2014,

6:53 am police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Canadian Tire Gas Bar parking lot. A fuel truck reversed into a vehicle pulling into the lot. No injuries.

8:35 am police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Goderich and Tomlinson Drive. A vehicle was south on Goderich St approaching the traffic lights at Tomlinson when the light turned amber. The driver attempted to make a right turn into the parking lot and slid into another vehicle stopped at the lights east bound. Damage was received to both vehicles. The vehicle exiting the lot had to be towed. The driver making the turn into the lot was charged with Improper Right Turn.

9:42 am police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Bruce Rd 3 and Carlisle St. This incident was reported by press release that day. Police have no updates on the health of the driver that was taken to a London Hospital.

6:16 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Rd 17 where a driver struck a deer.

2:40 am police stopped a vehicle in Southampton as a result of driver actions. The driver failed a roadside screening check and was taken to the police office for a breath test. The female driver, Stacey O’Neill 24 years of Saugeen Shores was charged with Drive over 80 mgms, the vehicle she was driving was impounded for 7 days and she was issued with a 90 day ADLS driver’s suspension.

Upon searching the vehicle officers located a baggie of Crystal Meth, oxycodone pills and marihuana, officers also located some identification previously reported stolen outside of Saugeen Shores. Police are investigating.

5 Dec 2014,

3:06 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Albert and Emerald St Southampton. A vehicle was north on Albert St and signaling to turn left into the Mac’s Milk parking lot. Another vehicle travelling behind this vehicle passed on the right and the trailer of the second vehicle struck and tore the mirror off of the first vehicle. He driver of the passing vehicle was charged with passing on the right.

5:09pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Canadian Tire parking lot. A vehicle struck a light in the parking lot and received extensive damage and had to be towed, no injuries.

9:13 pm police conducted RIDE in various locations about Saugeen Shores. 125 vehicles were checked with no impaired drivers.

6 Dec 2014,

6:29 am police responded to a break and enter and theft in Saugeen Township. Sometime overnight a garage had been broken into and a .50 caliber Thompson Pro Hunter rifle was stolen from a vehicle in the garage. The culprit(s) went across the road to a neighbouring house and stole a GPS unit from a vehicle in the barn. Police are investigating, anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

3:22 pm police responded to a break and enter to an apartment in Southampton. The theft occurred sometime overnight. A laptop and some cigarettes were stolen. Police are investigating.

7 Dec 2014,

10:48 am police responded to a car / deer collision on County Rd 17.

3:14 pm sometime overnight three homes were egged in Saugeen Shores, two in Southampton and one in Port Elgin. No suspects.
