When you are involved in a motor vehicle collision it is best to call police and have them investigate. Currently you are only required to report a collision where other property is damaged, a person is injured or the total damage in the collision appears to be over $2000. So many times we have people call us after the fact once they get a damage estimate and it exceeds $2000 and the insurance company requires a police report. At this point there is very little police can do to investigate to determine who may have been at fault. Sometimes when you make arrangements with an at fault driver to repair the damage to your vehicle those good intentions don’t work out. Rarely is the estimated damage the same as the actual repair bill. Protect yourself and your interests, call police.

Have a safe and happy holiday.
