27 July 2015,
10:08 am, a vehicle was south on Waterloo at Green St and failed to yield to a vehicle west on Green St and struck it. Two occupants received minor injuries. The driver of the offending vehicle was charged with failing to yield.
1:00 pm, someone reported the theft of a dingy from the Aqua parking lot on Goderich St.
11:58 pm, police towed an abandoned vehicle on Hwy #21 as it was a safety hazard.
11:29 pm, police conducted RIDE in Southampton.
28 July 2015,
10:09 am a 30 year-old Saugeen Reserve male was arrested on a warrant from Saugeen Shores. The charges included, Possession, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Fail to Attend Court X2, Breach of Recognizance, Shoplifting and Fail to Comply.
10:19 am sometime overnight someone stole a fire extinguisher from a Waterloo St apartment. Later a call came in from the Dr. Earl Medical building where the extinguisher was found and had been set off.
4:42 pm a female driver backed into a parked vehicle at Lord Elgin Fish and Chips then left the scene. Witnesses provided police the licence number and the responsible driver was located.

4:32 pm two 34 year-old males from Hamilton were warned for carrying open beer and they dumped their beer.
5:14 pm a 23 year-old Saugeen Shores female was arrested on warrants from Saugeen Shores. The charges included Break and Enter with Intent, Forcible Confinement, Fail to attend court.
11:20 pm police investigated an assault complaint. No charges were laid.

10:25 am sometime over the last two days someone stole the front licence off of a vehicle parked by the harbour in Port Elgin.
2:06 pm two swimmers were warned about swimming in the harbour mouth in Port Elgin. Aside from being a dangerous activity a person could be charged with trespassing. Be careful swimming and think, a boat cannot stop or turn quick. The beach is beautiful why not swim there.
2:12 pm a computer fraud/scam was reported. Somehow this person’s computer was hacked and an alert message came up to call a number to fix it. This was done and the person paid $300 by visa to fix it. The problem returned and the person was provided with a $150 credit, but they called back to say they made a mistake and credited his bank account. They asked for a money order to repay the difference. Turns out the culprit was putting money from the person’s credit card into his chequing account and having the victim send money orders overseas. Don’t be fooled. If you suspect your computer has a problem take it into a local technician. Never send wire money transfers or money orders to someone you don’t trust100%. Save your money. Invest in a decent firewall to try to prevent someone from hacking into your coputer.
2:39 pm a person from Sauble beach reported the loss of a $779 money order.
3:03 pm two Saugeen Shores youth were warned about swimming in the harbour mouth.
4:08 pm a person located marihuana plants on private property and turned them into police.
31 July 2015,
2:16 am a male was observed in an intoxicated state downtown Port Elgin. The 26 year-old male was arrested for public intoxication and turned over to his brother.
5:47 am sometime overnight someone stole a 2009 Nissan from a residence in Port Elgin. The vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle was involved in a single vehicle collision on Cameron St and the vehicle was extensively damaged. The lone male driver walked away from several witnesses who stopped to help. Police are trying to identify the driver of the stolen vehicle. The following day a credit card belonging to the owner of the vehicle that was left in the vehicle was used several times in Southampton at places that use video. Police are investigating.
10:53 am sometime over the past few days someone stole a front licence plate from a vehicle.
12:05 pm, sometime overnight someone pinned what is believed to be satanic symbols on two pieces of paper to a front door of a residence in Port Elgin. Police are investigating this matter as a hate crime. Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call police at 519-832-9200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
12:27 pm, someone broke into a shed behind SDSS where football equipment is stored. At this time it does not appear anything was stolen.
9:14 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton.
9:42 pm while conducting RIDE officers requested a driver provide a roadside breath test. The driver failed the test and at the police office provided breath tests with readings of 117 mgms and 116 mgms. The legal limit is 80 mgms. A 65 year old Florida male was charged with Drive Over 80 mgms, and issued a 90 day ADLS drivers licence suspension.
1 August 2015,
12:43 am a vehicle was travelling on Peel St and came upon a group of youth. The youth were walking on the road and some were on skateboards. As the vehicle passed an altercation between the youth and the vehicle driver occurred that ended up in a lawn chair being thrown at the car causing scratched and a dent. Police are investigating.
12:31 pm a vehicle reversed from a parking spot striking a parked vehicle at Victoria and High St, no injuries.
2 August 2015,
7:42 am a vehicle lost control on 18/19 Side Road and entered the west ditch and struck a hydro pole. The front of the vehicle was severely damaged. The lone driver was taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver was charged with Careless Driving.
10:36 am, sometime overnight someone set off a fire extinguisher in the stairwell of 116 Albert St.

1:37 pm, sometime overnight someone stole a hand-painted sign from a cottage on Saugeen Beach Road.
3:33 pm, somebody used a cigarette to burn a hole in a saddlebag of a motorcycle parked on Pierson Ave.
