1:29 pm police responded to a break enter and theft at the Queens Bar and Grill. It is unknown at this time where entry was gained. Alcohol and some rolled change were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call Saugeen Shores Police or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
2:49 pm police responded to a complaint of graffiti being spray painted on the side of the Southampton water tower.
9:42 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Goderich St at Market St. Two vehicles collided and one of the vehicles struck the light post on the south west corner. No injuries, both vehicles had to be towed.
Some marihuana plants were located growing in a field area and the finder called police. In all 60 immature plants were seized, the plants ranged in size from 6 inches to 3 feet. The plants were seized for destruction.
21 July 2015,
3:41 am police responded to a hold up alarm at Mac’s Milk on Goderich St. An employee was concerned of the actions of a customer. There was no attempt at a robbery. A male and female were located at a vehicle in the parking lot. An open bottle of alcohol was observed in the vehicle. A baggie of what was believed to be crystal methamphetamine was also located in the vehicle. A 42 year old male from Barrie was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and breach of Probation and held for a bail hearing. A 23 year old female from Kincardine was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and breach of Recognizance and released.
5:39 am police were alerted to a stop sign that had been lying on the ground at Green St and Waterloo St. Police stood by until public works could replace the sign.
10:35 am police received a report of the theft of 15 wooden pallets from the flour Mill off of Carlisle St.
22 July 2015,
5:40 pm police responded to a shoplifting complaint at Walmart. A 15 year old male and a 17 year old male tried to steal a pair of running shoes each. The 15 year old was charged with Theft Under $5000 and will appear in court.
11:07 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton, no offenders.
23 July 2015,
4:19 pm police responded to a rollover of an ATV on the River Road. A man was operating his ATV along The River Road when he lost control and was thrown from the machine. Two local men stopped to provide assistance and called an ambulance and police. The man was taken to hospital with what was considered to be non-serious injuries.
5:21 pm police received a report of a theft of some flowers and a steel frame from a grave site in Port Elgin.
24 July 2015,
Police received a complaint from a person who located 34 small marihuana plants on some property. The plants were turned over to police for destruction.
2:36 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Market and Goderich St. A vehicle was west on Market St passing through Goderich St. with a green light and was struck by a north bound vehicle on Goderich St who went through the red light. No injuries. The driver of the offending vehicle was charged with Red Light Fail to Stop.
6:06 pm police received a report of a theft from outside of Foodland in Southampton. A vehicle detailing kit was stolen from his display outside the store. The kit is valued at $140. Police are investigating.
25 July 2015,
12:54 am police received a report of the theft of a bicycle from Arlington St.
2:26 pm police received a report that sometime overnight a Saugeen Shores Town vehicle was keyed along the passenger side while parked along Market St.
4:04 pm police responded to a mischief complaint in Port Elgin. After a disagreement some flowers were pulled from a garden. The person was cautioned.
7:12 pm police conducted Joint Police Services RIDE with Hanover Police, West Grey Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Owen Sound Police.
26 July 2015,
11:52 am police responded to a theft of two motorcycles in a trailer. The theft occurred at the New Fairway Campground. A trailer licence number J7343Y containing two motorcycles, a 2009 Yamaha licence 437R8 and a 2006 Suzuki licence BLIP was stolen sometime overnight. No suspects. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
