(SAUBLE BEACH, ON) – On August 8, 2016 at 11:53 a.m., the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to a 57 year-old-female in medical distress at a Lake Huron beach located off of Lakeshore Boulevard, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
The female was swimming with a flotation device when she went into medical distress. A family member pulled her to shore where they received assistance from off-duty police and EMS. CPR was initiated until, Bruce County EMS attended the scene and transported the female to a local hospital where she was pronounce deceased.
The deceased female has been identified as 57-year-old, Becky MCARTHUR of Guelph, Ontario.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled for today, August 9, 2016, to determine the exact cause of death.
