(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) On April 27, 2013 at approximately 2:33am, County of Wellington OPP officers were conducting a RIDE spot check on Highway 7 near the Woolwich-Guelph Townline. Police spoke to the male driver of a Dodge Neon, who showed signs of alcohol consumption. Police also seized a quantity of marihuana from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed the drivers licence was under suspension as well.
Ryan Lichti, age 24 of Mitchell, has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive While Disqualified, both contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, and Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on May 28, 2013 to answer to the charges.
