(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – An early morning traffic stop yesterday led to a racing charge, driver’s licence suspension and a vehicle impoundment for a young driver from the Brussels area. Just after 6:30 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Ford Fusion travelling eastbound on Cut Line Road at a high rate of speed. A RADAR device was used to confirm the driver’s excessive speed and it was determined the driver was speeding at a speed of 144 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
The driver, 21 year old Ryan BAKER from Huron East was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. His driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days. He now has a court appearance scheduled for Provincial Offences Court – Goderich on September 2, 2014.
