(Central Huron, ON) On September 28, 2009 at approximately 9:00 pm, Huron OPP officers were set up for a RIDE check in Central Huron. A vehicle entered the checkpoint and upon approaching the driver, the officer immediately smelled the strong odour of cannabis marihuana coming from inside the vehicle. Upon questioning, the passenger produced a baggie containing cannabis marihuana. A further search of the occupant and the vehicle produced more suspected marihuana and open liquor.
The passenger, Ronald Wagler (31) of Goderich was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Cannabis Marihuana and one count of Having Liquor in Open Container in Other than Licenced Premises, Residence or Private Place. He will return to Goderich Court on November 23, 2009.
