(SOUTH HURON, ON) – On February 4, 2012 just before 9:00 a.m. Huron OPP officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision that took place on Thames Road near London Road in Exeter. An off duty officer observed a Dodge car travelling westbound on Thames Road collide with a stopped minivan. Officers immediately checked on the condition of the occupants and found nobody sustained injuries requiring medical attention.
Upon speaking with the driver of the Dodge, officers noted she had been drinking alcoholic beverages. Further signs of impairment were also displayed. As a result, the driver of the Dodge was arrested for impaired driving. Subsequent breath tests revealed the driver was over the legal limit.
Rolanda MCNAUGHT, age 45, from Mitchell, ON has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol. She will answer to the charges at Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on March 29, 2012. Her licence has been suspended for 90 days as per statute.
