(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 8:15 p.m. South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver on Bruce County Rd. 86, in the Township of Huron-Kinloss. Police located the suspect vehicle, unoccupied, on Campbell Street in Lucknow.
While investigating the incident, police observed a male, who appeared to be highly intoxicated, walk out in front of traffic. Concerned for his safety and ability to care for himself, police arrested him for public intoxication. The suspect continued to behave erratically and aggressively; assaulting an officer during the arrest. The officer required medical attention for an injury to his leg.
The accused was transported to the South Bruce OPP detachment in Walkerton where he was held for bail.
Roger DOIRON, 31, of Lucknow, Ontario is charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest under the Criminal Code. He is also charged with being intoxicated in a public place under the Liquor Licence Act.
