(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers arrested a 51 year old male for impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample following an incident on Saturday, April 20, 2013. At 5:13 p.m. an alert citizen and an off duty OPP officer followed a suspected impaired driver to a restaurant located on Huron Road in Goderich. Uniformed officers attended the restaurant and learned from the witnesses the male had just driven to the restaurant in a white Acura MDX.
Officers spoke with the male driver and determined he had been drinking alcohol. The driver refused to provide a sample of his breath upon demand. As a result, 51 year old Rodney COBURN from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Driving and Fail to Provide a Breath Sample.
He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on May 27, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
