(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday June 24, 2011 shortly before 8 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer in Mitchell observed a pickup truck being driven past the West Perth OPP Detachment on St. George St. The pickup truck was followed and erratic driving manoeuvres were observed. The vehicle stopped and the male driver was approached by the officer who observed obvious signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he failed Intoxilyzer breath tests.
Robert VANCUREN (50) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs. of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He is set to appear in Stratford Provincial Court on July 25, 2011 to answer to these charges.
