(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A 65 year old male will be without a driver’s licence for the next 90 days following a sobriety check late last night. At approximately 10:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a grey Buick Enclave travelling northbound on Bluewater Veterans Highway at Sunset Beach Road. The driver was stopped for a sobriety and documentation check. Upon stopping the vehicle the officer noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician; both tests were above the legal limit.
Robert SHERWOOD, 65, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 9, 2013. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension.
