Robert MILLER – Drunk Driving, Breach Probation

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 48 year old has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Fail to Comply with Probation Order following a traffic stop on August 31, 2014.

At 1:44 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was leaving the Shelter Valley Campground roadway located just off Huron Road when he encountered a GMC Sierra pickup truck that was also leaving the campground. The pickup truck was stopped and a sobriety check was completed on the driver. Upon speaking with the driver the officer observed the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The officer observed several signs that the driver’s ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. As a result the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Grand Bend OPP Detachment for breath tests.

He provided two sample of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both tests registered above the legal limit. A check on the driver revealed the driver was currently serving a probation sentence and was in breach of his conditions of release.

As a result, Robert MILLER, 48, from Exeter has been charged with Impaired Driving, Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Fail to Comply with Probation Order. He has a court appearance scheduled for September 29, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
