(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 22 year old male is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol following a traffic stop on April 26, 2014. Just before 3:00 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a blue Oldsmobile travelling southbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway. The officer noted the vehicle was swerving within and outside of the marked lane of travel. The suspect vehicle was stopped on Euphemia Street in the village of Bayfield to check on the sobriety of the driver.
Upon speaking with the driver the officer determined the driver had been drinking alcohol and his ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired. The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Driving and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests.
He provided samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and the samples registered above the legal limit.
As a result, Robert HENDERSON, 22, from Bluewater has been charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on June 2, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
