Robbery & Kidnapping – Three Males Arrested

On December 28th, 2014, the Guelph Police became involved in a robbery/kidnapping investigation at a residence in the downtown area of Guelph. The parties involved in the incident were known to each other.

The police were in the area for an unrelated matter when they were advised that three males, all 21 years of age, had used a firearm to commit a robbery against two victims. These same males then left the area in a vehicle with a female from the residence. Police, with the assistance of the Toronto Police Service, were able to track down the vehicle. In the early morning hours of December 29th, 2014, three males were arrested without incident and returned to Guelph to face charges. The female was found safe and had not suffered any injuries.

Police recovered a loaded firearm, a canister containing oleoresin capsicum, and a small quantity of drugs as a result of the arrests.

Two males from Mississauga, and one male from Toronto are facing the following charges:

Robbery Using Prohibited Firearm, 2 counts

Extortion Using a Prohibited Firearm,

Forcible Confinement,

Kidnapping while using Prohibited Firearm,

Weapons Dangerous, 2 counts

Unauthorized Possession of firearm/weapon in a Motor Vehicle,

Use Firearm while committing an offence,

Use of Firearm,

Point Firearm,

Carry Concealed Weapon,

Unauthorized Possession of Firearm,

Unauthorized Possession of Weapon,

Firearm: Knowledge of unauthorized possession,

Weapon: Knowledge of unauthorized possession,

Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition,

One of the males from Mississauga faces 2 additional charges for breaching his recognizance.
