On Thursday, July 25, 2013 at approximately 4:00 p.m., a call was made to police in relation to a stabbing that had just occurred in the area of Dundas Street near Lyle Street.
After a 32-year-old male left the nearby bank, he was confronted by citizens offering to sell him an electronic item. When the offer was refused, the male was threatened to be killed and was stabbed in the leg. He was transported to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Two individuals were arrested a short time later nearby.
As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Jennifer Degrace and 21-year-old Aaron Degrace, both of no fixed address, have been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
robbery, contrary to section 343(c);
uttering threats, contrary to section 264(1)(a); and
aggravated assault, contrary to section 268(2).
When Jennifer Degrace was arrested, she provided a false name and was in possession of property taken from motor vehicles. She was further charged with:
mischief – divert suspicion, contrary to section 140(1)(b); and
two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, contrary to section 354(1).
