(TOWN OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – Effective 11:10 am on January 28, 2014 these are the following road closures for Bruce Peninsula.
All roads in Northern Bruce Peninsula are closed
Highway 21 from Alvanley to Southampton is closed
Bruce Road 10 from Hepworth to Alvanley is closed
Highway 6 from Wiarton to Tobermory still remains closed
The closures are in effect due to high winds, blowing snow and poor to no visibility. Motorists are asked to respect the closures and avoid these roads.
The penalty for driving on a closed highway is a $110 fine and 3 demerit points, but the consequences can be far worse if you become involved in a collision, or stranded, in a white out
Bruce Peninsula OPP are monitoring the unstable weather conditions today and reminding motorists to still use extreme caution when travelling roads due to poor visibility, blowing and drifting snow.
