Road Closed Due To Vehicle Striking Hydro Tower

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday March 06, 2012 shortly before 11 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Line 37 between Perth Road 107 and Road 106.

Investigation revealed that an east bound Honda CRV operated by an 18 year old male from Petersburg lost control on the road as a deer ran out in front of the vehicle. The driver swerved to miss the animal, entered the north ditch and struck a steel hydro tower. The driver was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. The tower sustained extensive damage and requires specialized equipment to repair. The vehicle will not be removed until Hydro One deems it safe to do so.

Line 37 between Perth Road 107 and Road 106 will remain closed until repairs are made and the vehicle is removed. It is expected that this road closure will be in effect for most of the day (Wednesday March 07).
