Ride (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Programs conducted on Friday Night

Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted several RIDE Programs on the evening of Friday night in communities of Thamesville, Bothwell and Ridgetown, with approximately 180 vehicles checked in total, five (5) roadside tests were administered, two (2) three day suspensions, and ten (10) tickets issued related to Highway Traffic and/or Liquor Licence Act offences.

We strongly urge drivers to consider using the ‘Home James’ program, It is a free, confidential, volunteer-driven service offered to any individual who has been drinking or who simply does not feel fit to drive his/her vehicle home.

Think twice before driving when you have consumed alcohol, call 519-351-3353 and a team of three volunteers will come and drive you home safely in your own car. For more information on how the program works or how to volunteer, please click http://www.homejames-ck.ca/
