The London Police Service has identified a pattern of offences involving daytime break and enters to homes in the north and west areas of the city. These include Balnagown Place, Valleyrun Boulevard, Rivertrace Close, and Summit Avenue. In the past week, four homes were entered through forced front doors and high value jewellery and precious metals were stolen.
Members of the public should be aware of the following and report any suspicious activity to police:
– The break and enters are occurring between 9am – 3pm;
– Secure portable items and consider using a safety deposit box to safeguard valuables;
– Be aware of persons and vehicles loitering in your area and report this to police.
This pattern was identified using the new Bair Analytics Inc. ATAC crime mapping and analytical tools recently obtained through a provincial grant.
Members of the public can view crime data in their neighbourhood or sign up for crime alerts through the online interactive crime maps. The link can be found on the London Police Service website at www.police.london.ca. Data is currently accessible for the following offences: auto thefts, break and enters, theft from motor vehicles, robberies, and motor vehicle collisions.
