Repeat Offenders LUNZ and MOORE Arrested Again – Stolen Vehicles Recovered

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Sunday August 07, 2016, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to Line 88 just east of Gowanstown, where a resident observed a neighbours car that had been stolen the previous day, driving around the area.

As officers responded to the call and were searching for the stolen car they observed a pickup truck parked in front of a car behind trees in a field east of Gowanstown. Officers checked out both vehicles and determined that they had both been reported stolen. The car had been stolen from a Line 89 residence the day before, while the pickup truck was stolen from a farm property in Howick Twp. on August 3rd, 2016.

Officers kept observation of the vehicles and shortly thereafter observed two males on a dirt bike approach. At the vehicles one of the males got off the dirt bike while the other fled through fields as he observed officers approach. The dirt bike operator eluded police however he was identified. The male with the vehicles was arrested and a warrant was obtained for the male who eluded police.

On Monday August 15, 2016, the second male was located at an address on Elizabeth Street W. in Listowel, he was arrested without incident.

23-year-old Dustin James LUNZ of Palmerston has been charged with two counts of “possession of property obtained by crime”, and three counts of “failing to comply with probation order”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear at the Stratford Criminal Court of Justice on September 19, 2016, to answer to the charges.

32-year-old Kyle Nathan MOORE of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with three counts of “possession of property obtained by crime”, four counts of “failing to comply with probation order”, “unauthorized possession of a weapon”, and “carrying a concealed weapon”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He remains in custody and will be appearing for a bail hearing by means of video on August 18, 2016.
