Repeat Offenders Arrested In Listowel – GILKINSON & WELSH

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested two people and charged a third person in relation to a traffic stop in Listowel.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday April 9 2020, police stopped the vehicle on Davidson Avenue North after noticing the validation sticker on the vehicle had expired in August of last year. While speaking with the driver and passenger, the officer saw that there was cannabis readily available to the driver. Police also located methamphetamine in possession of the passenger. While dealing with these offences, the driver used a false name, was currently suspended from driving, and on four probation orders, which resulted in additional charges.

As a result of this investigation, three people are now facing charges.

Jamie-Lynn GILKINSON, 31, of North Huron, has been arrested and charged with:

Obstruct Peace Officer

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (four counts)

Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

Driver fail to surrender licence

Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

Fail to surrender insurance card

Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available

Drive while under suspension

Jeremy WELSH, 21, of North Perth, has been arrested and charged with:

Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts)

Both of the accused persons have been released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Further investigation revealed that the owner of the vehicle permitted the driver to operate the motor vehicle without insurance.

Adam KONKLE, 39, of North Huron, has been charged with:

Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance
