(HURON EAST, ON) – An expired validation sticker offence has led to a trip to jail for one Huron County driver that was stopped driving in Egmondville this past weekend.
Just after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted a Pontiac Grand-Am traveling southbound on Kippen Road near Silver Creek Trail with an expired validation sticker. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the driver was stopped.
Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer identified several offences. The driver was prohibited from driving and was currently on a court release to not be in care or control of a motor vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle was not insured and had never been safetied.
As a result, the driver was arrested and taken into custody. David BERRY, 50 years of age from Huron East has been charged with the following offences:
(7) Seven counts of Drive Disqualified
Fail to Comply with Recognizance of Bail
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance
Operate Unsafe Vehicle on a Highway
Fail to Apply for Permit on Becoming Owner
Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 29, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
