(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 39-year-old from Bluewater is facing a number of charges following a traffic stop that took place over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 12th, 2017 around 7:15 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call about a male that was driving while impaired from Clinton to Hensall. Officers immediately began to patrol for the suspect vehicle, a white Chrysler 300. Approximately 40 minutes later, an OPP officer found the suspect vehicle parked behind the Hensall car wash just off of Queen Street.
Upon approaching the suspect vehicle the officer noticed the male to be passed out behind the wheel. The driver was awakened and it became readily apparent to the investigating officer that the driver was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested for Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle while Impaired and was taken into custody.
He was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both of his samples registered over the legal limit. Further investigation revealed the driver was also failing to abide by conditions of his probation sentence and a court release.
As a result, Leigh PARSONS, 39 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with Care & Control While Impaired, Care & Control – Over 80 Milligrams, Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2) counts and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance now scheduled for August 21, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
