(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On February 18, 2018 at approximately 12:36 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible domestic related disturbance at a residence on Victoria Street in the Municipality of Meaford.
Upon attending the residence police located a male wanted for breaching his recognizance of bail by associating with the female present.
During his arrest, the male assaulted an officer. The officer was not injured.
A 45-year old male from the Township of Chatsworth was charged with Assault Peace Officer and two counts of Breach of Recognizance.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody. A video remand is scheduled for February 27, 2018.
