The Owen Sound Police received a called to attend the area of the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue East, Owen Sound with regards to a male party acting erratically. Police attended the area just before 2 a.m. locating the 22 year old male. The male party verbally identified himself with a false name to avoid arrest as there were two outstanding warrants for his arrest by a neighbouring police service. Through continued investigation of the male party it was determined that he was lying. He was arrested at which time he was found to be in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and a knife which opened with centrifugal force, which is prohibited to possess under the Criminal Code. In addition to the current warrants for his arrest, Isaac Petonoquot of Port Elgin will now face charges of obstruct police, weapons – unauthorized possession and possession of a controlled substance. Petonoquot will appear on March 15th for a bail hearing in the Owen Sound Ontario Court of Justice.
