Repeat Offender Arrested For Multiple Robberies

On November 29, 2017, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police received reports of multiple robberies and assaults that occurred on Brantford Highway in the Township of North Dumfries. The first victim was approached on his property where he reported that a woman stole his cell phone. The woman fled and was observed by a passerby looking distressed. The passerby stopped and the woman assaulted him and took his cell phone. The woman then threw an object, breaking the windshield of a passing car. That driver stopped his car and the woman forced the driver out of the car and stole the vehicle, feeling towards Brantford. OPP officers observed the vehicle on Highway 403, near Burlington. The woman collided with multiple other vehicles in that area. Officers were able to place the woman under arrest. A 28-year-old Waterloo woman has been charged with three counts of Robbery, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Mischief under $5,000, Flight from Police, Dangerous Driving, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000, Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation Order. One female victim was treated and released from hospital for minor injured caused by the assault.
