Repeat Buzzed Driver Gets 30 Day Suspension

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On August 4, 2012 just after 2:00 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer stopped a Chrysler Intrepid on Bayfield River Road near Orchard Line. Upon speaking with the male driver, officers noted the driver had been drinking alcohol. A 43 year old male driver from Bluewater was issued a 30 day drivers licence suspension following a “warn” test result at the roadside. The penalties for warn range suspensions escalate from 3 days for the first time, 7 day suspension for the second time to a 30 day suspension for the third time.

Huron OPP has zero tolerance when it comes to impaired driving. Huron OPP officers are dedicated to keeping our roadways safe. Officers will continue to be on the lookout for impaired drivers throughout the county each and every shift. Don’t take unnecessary chances, plan ahead. You could risk losing a lot more than your licence.
