Renewed Calls For Change Gain Momentum – Is It Time For David Riach To Resign?

Renewed calls for change are sweeping the planet once again. Egyptians from all walks of life, religious backgrounds, and political affiliations are uniting in Tahrir Square to demand immediate change. One million people are expected to stand united against their oppressors in Egypt today. The overthrow of Hosni Mubarak did not end their revolution, but marked the start.

Army units have defected in Yemen and are now clashing with government forces. Yemen’s president has signed a deal to step down, but will have immunity from prosecution. This immunity has outraged the general population, as they want President Ali Abdullah Saleh to be held accountable for his abuse of power.

The Arab League has demanded that Syria allow human rights observers be into their country. Currently international media is banned from Syria. The deadline for this demand has passed and 13 have been killed today, including one child. Refugee camps in Turkey are swelling with Syrians seeking safety. The Arab League will meet on Saturday to draft sanctions against Syria.

Millions have stood up to their oppressors this year, and thousand have lost their lives in their quest to make their governments listen to the will of the people. Occupy camps have been setup around the globe, and several have been shutdown by governments in Canada and the US. Artists are now uniting for a fundraiser for the Occupy movement, in an attempt to raise over $1,000,000 to help finance the Occupy movement throughout the cold winter months.

Everyday the movement gains strength, as more and more people say enough is enough” and decide to take a stand for themselves
