Regional Police and partner agencies participate in Lower Doon neighborhood event

Waterloo Region, ON – Waterloo Regional Police Community Resources Officers, in partnership with the City of Kitchener and the Conestoga College Town and Gown Committee, are inviting the community to the sixth annual street barbecue September 11, from 5-7 p.m.
The event takes place on Durham Street near the Doon Campus, and serves as a forum to bring the area’s students together with residents to interact and establish positive relationships.

Conestoga College president John Tibbits and members of the Waterloo Regional Police and Kitchener Fire Department will be on hand to take part in the festivities.

The Kitchener Conestoga College Town and Gown Committee was formed in 2006, with the goal of connecting college students and residents of the Lower Doon neighbourhood through positive interaction and responding to any concerns that may arise.
Representation on the committee includes the City of Kitchener’s bylaw enforcement division, Waterloo Regional Police Service, Conestoga College, Conestoga Students Inc., the Lower Doon Neighbourhood Association and an area landlord.
