At the last council meeting there was a presentation from the County
Planner. This highlighted the fact that Wingham only has two small
industrial lots, and that past council’s have ignored our
future. If you watch the presentation, you will realize that
North Huron’s Community/Economic Development department has done
virtually nothing. While you watch the presentation, remember
the amount we have been spending on Connie Goodall’s department over
the last 4-5 years. Decide for yourself if we have gotten our
money’s worth. You won’t see or hear Connie Goodall in the
video, her job was to turn on the Sally McMullen’s computer, and
that didn’t go too smoothly.
You will notice unelected archie macgowan claim that our
relationship with Morris-Turnberry is wonderful, and not a detriment
to economic development. The Old Boys Club will even try to
convince you we have a surplus of industrial land. Watch the
video to see the Old Boys Club try to convince the world it is all
sunshine, rainbows and fluffy kittens.
The reality is, things simply couldn’t be worse between North Huron
and Morris-Turnberry. Each council is trying to punish the
other one, at the expense of our entire Community. Like
spiteful undisciplined children.
First, North Huron has refused to hookup any new water and
sewer connections in Morris-Turnberry.
Second, according to Councillor Bernie Bailey,
Morris-Turnberry is refusing to issue building permits for the land
we own out at the airport.
Well, things could be worse, North Huron could shut off M-T’s water
and sewer. Now, if you were a developer, would you put Wingham
at the top of your list?
