Racing Motorist Now Walking

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Wednesday October 12, 2011 around 7:30 p.m. a Perth County OPP officer was conducting patrol on Perth Road 130 near Perth Line 29 south of Sebringville. The officer observed a fast moving Jeep Cherokee approaching in a north bound direction and immediately activated the police radar. The Jeeps speed registered 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The 27 year old male driver from Tavistock was subsequently charged with “racing” and will have to appear in Stratford Court on November 08, 2011 to answer to this charge. He was issued a 7 day drivers licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
