(HURON EAST, ON) On Friday, November 4th, 2011 at approximately 9:38pm, a Huron County OPP officer was conducting radar patrol on Vanastra Road in Huron East. The officer observed a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck exceeding the speed limit and activated the police radar which registered the speed of the pickup truck at 111km/h in a 60km/h zone.
As a result of traveling 51 km/h above the speed limit, the 24 year old male driver from Central Huron, ON was charged with “Race a motor vehicle – Excessive speedâ€Â. A provincial offences court date is set for January 3, 2012.
His driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the motor vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
