(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to a break and enter on Berford St. in Wiarton between 12 and 1 a.m. on November 11, 2013. A quick thinking resident heard a crashing sound and observed a male party running away from Lloyds Smoke Shop. The resident called Police and assisted them by providing the direction of travel of the suspect.
Members of the OPP observed the male walking along the street, and as they approached, he ran away. A short foot pursuit resulted in an intoxicated 20 year old male being arrested and charged for Break and Enter, as well as Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
Robert LECKIE of The Town of South Bruce Peninsula was released on a Promise to Appear, and will appear in Owen Sound Court on December 12, 2013 to answer to the charges.
