I have sent Mrs. Main several requests for information which have not been answered. The only response I received, was that she was advised not release any financial information until it has been audited, and that they do not have a website.
The intention was to run a follow-up story which was to print answers to the questions posed by our readers. Since she is now non-responsive, our only option is to run the questions void of answers.
Below is a copy of the message/questions sent.
I will be running a follow-up to the letter to the editor that was posted on our site regarding Brighter Futures Ministry. I would like to offer you the opportunity to answer these questions before we finalize our follow-up. Your prompt response would be greatly appreciated and would help clear up any miss-understandings out there.
According to one website your organization was established in 2004. Comments from the WFP comment section seem to confirm that. This is contrary to what is published on the Government’s site that should contain your T3010. Can you explain this discrepancy?
What hours are you open?
How long has your organization been operating?
If you have been in operation for more than a year, why is there no information available to the public regarding your charity’s finances?
Is this a non profit organization and run by volunteers or paid staff?
What type of background, education, and training does staff have in order to support and be a resource for young parents and pregnant teenagers?
What are donations used for? (administrative salaries, food, shelter, clothing, education)
