Barrie Police responded to a Break and Enter shortly after 5:00 am on April 29, 2015 to a South End Shoppers Drug Mart. Upon arrival it was evident that the culprit(s) had gained entry to the building by smashing the glass at the front of the pharmacy and had ransacked the inside before fleeing.
Officers, with the assistance of K-9, where led to the area of Aikens Crescent backing directly onto the Shoppers Drug Mart plaza. Further investigation resulted in the arrest 2 males, 31 and 37 years of age both from Barrie, at an Aiken Crescent address. The Barrie Police Street Crime Unit assisted in the investigation and subsequently executed a Search Warrant on the Aikens Crescent address. Close to $1500.00 dollars in various pills were located and seized at the time of the arrest.
As a result 2 males were charged with Break/Enter and Commit Indictable Offence, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000, Possession of Break-in Instruments and Failing to Comply with Probation. Both accused males were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
