Punching Girlfriend In Face Results In Charges

Barrie Police were called to a downtown pub for a domestic assault.

A 25 year old female victim reported she was drinking with her boyfriend when he became upset and punched her in the face.

The male fled the bar as Police were called and the victim believed he would run to his parents home.

However, the accused was found drinking in a nearby bar and was arrested for domestic assault.

It was learned the male was wanted on a warrant in the first for smashing the same victim’s cellphone a week previous.

A 31 year old Barrie male was transported to the Barrie Police Service and held for a bail hearing on charges of assault, breach probation x4 and mischief.

The victim suffered minor injuries.
