The BPS invites media partners and members of our community to attend an information session regarding the upcoming launch of the Brantford Police Service GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Crime Map – Public Site.
WHERE: Brantford Police Service, 344 Elgin Street, Brantford
WHEN: Thursday July 23, 2015, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
WHY: The BPS recognizes the value of sharing information on community safety
and security. To further community awareness and improve accessibility to calls-for-police-service
occurring in the community, the BPS has merged the GIS mapping technology with police calls for
service data for user-friendly public viewing.
The information session will provide insight on how to use the system which will also include
retrieving historical and current information. This community tool which will be made accessible by visiting
our website at www.brantford.police.ca.
Members of our community will have the ability to search for particular types of crime, calls for service and
the general location the BPS attended.
