Project Stunt

Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to providing its citizens with safe roadways and ongoing traffic related enforcement initiatives.

Traffic concerns remain a high priority to the citizens of Oakville. Our roadways are used by motorists as an alternate route to avoid heavy traffic of the QEW and 403 Hwy. Due to a higher level of pedestrians, homes and commercial businesses, these roadways have speed limits ranging from 60 to 80 km/hr. Our District Response Unit officers have identified problem areas in the Town of Oakville where motorists consistently disregard the posted speed limits and younger drivers take advantage of the open roadway to race their vehicles.

Stunt driving includes, but is not limited to, speeding 50 km/hr over the posted speed limit or racing.

According to Sgt. Bistas of the District Response Unit, stunt driving also includes behaviours such as lifting tires from the roadway
