Project L.E.A.R.N.

With the start of every school year there is great anticipation and excitement for what is to come. Part of that excitement revolves around meeting new friends and catching up with old ones. Socialization is an important part of student life and many of our students at Western University, Fanshawe College and our local secondary schools look forward to the social aspect of student life.

Members of the London Police Service will once again be involved in Project L.E.A.R.N. (Liquor Enforcement and Reduction of Noise), with extra patrols scheduled in the downtown area, and Western University and Fanshawe College neighborhoods. There will be strict but fair enforcement of by-laws relating to parties, parking, open fires, noise, litter and public urination.

Provincial offences in relation to excess alcohol consumption, open alcoholic containers in public and public intoxication will be strictly enforced. The most severe behaviours will be dealt with by criminal charges.

Under London’s Public Nuisance By-Law, owners, occupants and tenants will be responsible for ensuring that a nuisance party does not occur on their premise. If they do not, police will deal with the situation swiftly and strictly.

The members of the London Police Service are not here to ruin your fun – we simply ask that you obey the laws designed to ensure enjoyment for all citizens.

The choice is yours to make. Please be responsible and considerate of others. That is the right choice.
