Over the years numerous Citizens have tried to convince North Huron
council the merits of unblocked sidewalks in the winter. This
is a battle that started years before WFP came into existence.
Council has consistently laughed off requests to clear the
sidewalks, and have used bogus excuse after excuse not to do
it. The latest excuse comes from Gary Long, North Huron’s
current CAO/Clerk.
Is it really illegal to clear the sidewalks?
At the last meeting, Gary Long stated they needed an exemption from
a by-law” in order for town staff to clear the sidewalks.
Nobody we have talked to believes such a by-law exists
