Press Release – 24 March 2014 to 30 March 2014

25 March 2014,

8:50 am police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Goderich and Mary St Port Elgin. A vehicle was stopped traveling north at a red light on Goderich St and was rear ended by another vehicle traveling north. Both vehicles received damage and one needed to be towed from the scene. The driver of the offending vehicle was taken to hospital by ambulance but was found to have no injuries.

11:17 am police observed a vehicle traveling along the side of the southbound lane of Goderich St very close to the parked vehicles. Police caught up to this vehicle in the Ralph’s parking lot and the same time a pedestrian came to police to report the vehicle had clipped a mirror off of a parked car. When speaking to police the driver appeared to be in medical distress and an ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital. He was treated for a medical condition.

12:55 pm police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Mill St Port Elgin. Police could not locate any damage to either vehicle; it was a low speed collision.

26 March 2014,

11:26 am, police responded to an ambulance on fire at the Southampton Hospital emergency bay. Police assisted with traffic control for the fire service.

27 March 2014,

5:00 pm police attended to the Rexall on Goderich St to a theft report. An employee observed a male person steal a bottle of perfume. The store only wanted the violator trespassed from the store.

6:31 pm police attended to the PetroCan on Goderich St to a theft of gas report. It turned out to be a mistake and the person getting gas returned and paid.

28 March 2014,

4:20 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Goderich St at Biener Drive Port Elgin. A vehicle was east on Biener stopped at the stop sign at Goderich St. A vehicle was south on Goderich St turning right onto Biener and the eastbound vehicle pulled out and struck a southbound vehicle in the centre lane. The driver of the offending vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield. No injuries, both vehicles received moderate damage.s
