4 Aug 2014,

2:46 am police on general patrol saw a male urinating on the sidewalk downtown Port Elgin. The 28 year old Saugeen Shores male was highly intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication.

9:53 am, police attended to a vehicle entered on Lustig Lane but it cannot be determined if there was a theft from the vehicle.

10:03 am police received information of a motor vehicle collision that occurred the previous day in the parking lot of Ralph’s. Damage was over $1000 and there were no injuries.

4:20 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision that occurred at the Port Elgin beach on Harbour St. A vehicle struck another in the parking lot and left the scene. A licence plate was taken down and the vehicle was located in the Walmart parking lot. The driver was charged with Failing to Report an Accident.

7:01 pm police conducted RIDE in Southampton, 80 vehicles were checked, and three Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued.

5 Aug 14,

1:27 am police warned a 24 year old Guelph man for walking around with open liquor in Port Elgin.

3:56 pm police attended a motor vehicle collision at the Walmart parking lot. Both vehicles were unattended, a standard vehicle was left out of gear and the parking brake not applied and rolled into another parked vehicle. Minor damage.

5:09 pm police responded to a theft of sunglasses from an unlocked motor vehicle on Lustig Lane.

6 Aug 14,

11:41 pm while on foot patrol a police officer was dispatched to a male passed out in the intersection of River and Bricker St. An ambulance was called as the officers could not get the person to respond. The male did wake and was found to be highly intoxicated. Ambulance cleared the male and he was taken home to his parent’s home and turned over to them.

10:31 pm police conducted RIDE in Port Elgin, 30 vehicles were checked and one roadside test given.

7 Aug 14,

8:03 am police responded to a break and enter on the Shore Rd. Someone entered the unlocked side door of a garage and stole two bicycles from the garage. No suspects.

9:13 am police received a report of an unlocked vehicle being entered on South Rankin St and a Blackberry phone being stolen from it.

10:25 am police responded to two residences on North Rankin to a report of thefts from two unlocked vehicles. A wallet and identification were stolen from each.

2:36 pm police responded to a motor vehicle collision at Railway and McNabb St. A vehicle was north on Railway St and slowed for turning traffic and was struck from behind by another vehicle. The offending driver was charged with Following to Close.

9:33 pm police responded to a theft of a skateboard. A person was attending a movie and left the skateboard outside the theater only to find it had been stolen once the movie concluded.

10:06 pm police responded to the theft of an Ipod from an unlocked vehicle parked on Tyendinaga.

8 Aug 14,

11:24 am police responded to the Pierson Soccer field to a report of a person smashing beer bottles. Police located an intoxicated 28 year old Saugeen Shores male carrying a part case of beer from the beer store. He was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and placed in the cell until sober.

10:00 am police responded to a report of the theft of change from an unlocked vehicle on Mohawk Dr.

1:58 pm police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the downtown of Port Elgin and a person had taken his car keys from him. The male was arrested for public intoxication and held until sober.

2:34 pm police responded to a report of a break and enter into a garage on Madwayosh St in Southampton. Sometime overnight person(s) unknown stole a backpack containing 10 tall boys of Bud Light.

9 Aug 14,

12:01 am police responded to a report from members of Community Watch that there were three young women laying on the road on Huron St. The girls were gone upon police arrival.

9:10 am police responded to a motor vehicle collision in the Subway parking lot. A vehicle backed from a parking spot into the side of another occupied vehicle. No injuries minor damage.

9:46 pm police conducted RIDE on Bruce Rd #3. One roadside breath test was given, no impaired drivers.

10 Aug 14

1:11 am police observed two people arguing after leaving a downtown Port Elgin bar. A 28 year old Tara male was arrested for public intoxication.

5:45 pm police responded to a report of an assault at Crabby Joes. As a result of that investigation a 59 year old Arran Elderslie man was charged with assault.

4:14 pm police observed a male on Goderich St with open alcohol. The person was charged.
