9:17 pm police received a complaint of a deer and motor vehicle collision on the Sauble Road, no injuries.
21 April 2015,
12:05 am police responded to a downtown Port Elgin bar to a report of an intoxicated female who would not leave the bar. She was taken home by taxi.
1:45 pm police responded to a minor fail to remain motor vehicle collision on Saugeen Beach Road. No suspects.
22 April 2015,
12:31 pm police arrested a 17 year old female on the strength of outstanding warrants from Owen Sound. She was turned over to Owen Sound Police.
3:29 pm police received a complaint of a phone scam. A message was left on voicemail for a local resident indicating he has outstanding charges from the CRA. At some point in the message there was a request for money. There are formal legitimate ways for businesses, CRA and others to collect money from people. If you are targeted with one of these scams just hang up, delete the email, throw away the letter. Don’t send money.
4:36 pm police received a complaint of a 15 year old female who was breaching conditions of release from a previous incident. She was arrested and charged.
23 April 2015,
10:39 am police received complaint of two vending machines being broken into overnight. Approximately $80 in change was stolen from each of the machines. No suspects.
24 April 2015,
1:37 pm police responded to the downtown in Port Elgin to a report of a male yelling at people on the street from the upstairs apartment. Police spoke to the individual and he calmed down.
2:56 pm police responded to a mischief complaint at the Port Elgin Trailer Park. Someone had smashed the roof vent off the trailer. No entry was gained.
4:23 pm police responded to a Port Elgin residence where the hood of a vehicle had been keyed. No suspects.
11:10 pm police received complaint of a group of youths were walking along Woodland Drive drinking alcohol and jumping on cars. An 18 year old male was given a ticket for having alcohol under age.
25 April 2015
12:46 am police again responded to the Woodland Drive area to a report of youth carrying a beer cooler and smashing a beer bottle on the road. Police spoke to three males, 17, 18 and 19 years who had all been drinking. Two of the three received tickets for smashing the beer bottle and having liquor under 19 years of age.
2:53 am police were downtown Port Elgin and observed a male who appeared intoxicated and yelling. The male was transported home and cautioned for his behavior.
10:06 am police received a report of a vehicle being struck while parked at the Walmart parking lot. The vehicle received a scratch and a small dent. No suspects.
11:15 am a driver attended to the police office to report having struck a sign post on private property. The incident caused considerable damage to the person’s vehicle. No injuries.
10:53 pm police conducted RIDE in Port Elgin, no offenders, three Highway Traffic Act warnings were given and about 70 vehicles were checked.
26 April 2015
3:20 am police observed an intoxicated male banging on a car window downtown Port Elgin. The male was on a release from previous charges that had conditions not to drink alcohol. He was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
7:20 pm police responded to Walmart to a report of shoplifting. A female pushed a cart of unpaid items out the front door of the store. Staff asked the woman to stop but she went to a waiting vehicle and with the assistance of two other males loaded the items into a truck and left the area. Police are investigating.
