2:30 am police were called upon to investigate a sexual assault that occurred at a motel in Saugeen Shores. A female attended to a motel room with a male under the impression they were leaving one party to attend another. It is believed the female was fed a date rape drug in a drink. After investigation and a search warrant on the motel room police charged a 29 year-old Saugeen Shores man with Overcome Resistance section 246(b) C.C., Sexual Assault section 271 C.C. and Possession of a Controlled Substance section 4(1) CDSA.
7:58 am police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle taken from a Waterloo St apartment building parking lot. A spare set of keys was in the vehicle. At 11:43 am the vehicle was reported in the ditch at County Rd #17 and the River Rd. No suspects. Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

8:37 am police responded to a report of a wheel chair ramp being stolen from an Albert St address. The ramp is 36 inches long, 32 inches wide and 6 inches high and is made from wood.
9:31 am police attended to the Macs Milk Gas bar in Southampton to a report of a gas drive off. A male driver and female passenger pumped $70 worth of gas into the vehicle they were driving and left northbound. The vehicle was stolen from the Tara area earlier in the morning. The Bruce Peninsula OPP made an arrest of three individuals for the vehicle theft and charged them with various offences.

11:37 am a bicycle theft was reported to the police. The bicycle was in the year yard of a residence in Southampton.

8:28 am police responded to a mischief complaint at Saugeen District Secondary School. Some time overnight someone drove onto the football field and did several doughnuts damaging the grass.
9:03 am police responded to a report of a vehicle being keyed while parked near Eidt’s Grove. No suspects.
6:31 pm a male person entered the LCBO in Port Elgin, grabbed a bottle of Gibson’s whiskey and walked past the cashier without paying. The male left the area but was caught on video at the store. Police are investigating.
7:50 pm police observed a man sitting on the curb in front of Union Burger. The man was visiting the area and was warned.

10:39 am police responded to the Port Elgin Airport south of town to a report of mischief to some of the runway lights. Someone had broken several lights and pulled the fixtures from the wiring. No suspects. Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
11:36 am sometime overnight stole a wicker chair from a trailer site at New Fairway Park Campground. The chair was located in the bushes. Police believe this incident and the mischief to the lights at the airport to be related. Police are investigating.
This is the second week back for kids in school. Please drive slowly and pay attention around school zones. Do not be tempted to look at your cell phone. That second or two you take your eyes off the road could be fatal.
