Do you have any expired or unused prescription and over the counter medicine at home? Studies show that more teens are abusing medicine than ever before. One teenager in five has admitted to taking prescription drugs to get high and 75% of them say they stole them from home.
Let’s work together to keep our children safe…
Dispose of expired or unused medications at your local pharmacy – it’s easy and it’s free.
Do not share your medications and use only as prescribed – failing to do so is dangerous – and too often fatal.
Approach securing your prescriptions the same way you would other valuables – take them out of the medicine cabinet and secure them in a locked cabinet.
Spread the word – tell friends and relatives, especially grandparents, to lock up their medicine and to return unused and expired prescriptions to any local pharmacy.
Please do not dispose of these medications in your garbage or by flushing into our water system. Sewage systems cannot remove these medicines from water and so it is released into our lakes and rivers.
