Pregnant Cab Driver Assaulted – JOHNSON Charged

On March 20, 2016 at 2:41 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a motel on Woodlawn Road in response to the report that a female Canadian Cab driver was being assaulted. It is alleged that she had picked up two males and a female and transported them to the motel. One male refused to exit the cab which led to a verbal altercation. The male then grabbed the driver by her shoulder pulling her back into her seat. He then exited and police were called. Police located the male and he was arrested. The female driver was not injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution as she is pregnant.

Corey Johnson, 26 years of Guelph has been charged with assault. He will appear in court on May 3, 2016.
