MAILBOXES DAMAGED – POLICE INVESTIGATING
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and members from the Huron OPP Crime Unit are investigating a mischief to a rural mailbox. On March 24, 2013 officers attended a Glen’s Hill Road residence and met with the property owner. Officers learned sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. unknown suspect(s) used a crude homemade device to damage a mailbox located at the end of the laneway.
Three similar suspicious package incidents have been reported to Huron County OPP since November of 2012. Two mailboxes have been damaged on Glen’s Hill Road and two on Hawkins Road.
If you discover a suspicious package do not touch the item, call 9-1-1 immediately. Call police as soon as possible if you see a crime in progress or if you see suspicious activity taking place in your neighbourhood. Your piece of information may help solve a crime.
